While traveling to Raton stop at the New Mexico Visitor Information Center located in the busy intersection
of the Clayton Highway & South Second Street. Here, the visitor will find hot coffee, clean restrooms, internet
access, and helpful, friendly people with an abundance of information about the entire state of New Mexico.
The impressive new building that houses the Visitor Information Center, a division of the New Mexico Tourism Department,
and the Raton Chamber offices was built in the Spring of 1999 and offers a spacious and pleasant place for the
weary traveler to take a break from the behind the wheel. Inside you will find discount coupon books, state and
local maps, weather information and road conditions, in addition to brochures on attractions from across the state.
Local information is also available including restaurants, motels, campgrounds, city maps, local attractions and
day trips. If lodging reservations need to be made there is a special reservation line in the Visitor Information
Center provided by the New Mexico Lodging Association, Inc. that will connect you to many lodging facilities across
the state by simply entering a two digit number.
Visitor Center hours are:
Summer 7:00 am - 7:00 pm, 7 days a week
Winter 8:00 am - 5:00 pm , 7 days a week
Directions from I-25: take exit 451 into Raton, approximately ½ mile on the right.
