They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. If that's true,
there's no better place to begin a journey of self-discovery or religious renewal than at The Mandala Center.
About 35 miles east of Raton, the center sits placidly on the slopes of the Sierra Grande mountain range, looking
out across a cattle ranch and into the distance at the sweeping high plains and nearby Capulin Volcano.
Special programs offered at the center include retreats and workshops for spiritual development, health and wholeness,
and leadership. Individuals also come to the center to enjoy personal renewal activities.
A non-for-profit organization founded in 1996, The Mandala Center's philosophy is based on Christian religious
principles, although people of all faiths and beliefs are welcome.
Through workshops, study groups and services, those staying at the center reflect on their own personal spirituality,
strengthen their faith, engage in worship, prayer and contemplation, and develop a commitment to a life of service.
Guests stay in two buildings adjacent to the main building, Casa Mandala. In all there are eight double-occupancy
rooms with baths. The main guesthouse has a large common area with kitchenette.
Whether you want to find the meaning of life or just gaze out at nature while doing a little soul-searching, The
Mandala Center is the ideal spot for your next trip through our area.
